Slovenia has currently seen an increase in tourism, with it rapidly becoming a preferred holiday destination for those on their low cost last minute holidays, including cycling and walking tours; which are the most popular. You have a variety of options to choose from, with diverse landscapes such as the scenic backdrop of the Alps in the northwest of the country, and the beauty of the Mediterranean coast in the southwest. All self-guided (independent) trips include hotel accommodation, luggage transfer, documentation, tourist information materials and a briefing from our representative upon your arrival in Slovenia. Some tours have extras such as entrance fees to cultural sights that are part of the trip's itinerary. Group trips also include our local tour guide who walks with the group. How do I find my way around? Easily. During our welcome meeting you will be given a road-book (description of the trip in picture & text form) and a set of maps to approx 1:50.000 scale. Maps need to be returned to Helia at the end of the trip. What types of trips are there? There are circular trips that start and end in the same place, which includes a pre-arranged parking place for your car, if necessary. With "Daisy" trips you have one starting base and take daily trips from there. Chain trips start at A and end at B. If necessary, a return transfer to the starting point can be arranged. Are single rooms available on all tours? Yes, however there is a small supplement. There is no minimum requirement, we will be happy to welcome you as a single person too. How about medical insurance? Medical insurance should be arranged in your country before departure. Are support vehicles available and how is luggage transported? There are no support vehicles on self-guided or group tours available. However, should the need occur, all clients are given emergency telephone numbers for our office. We are reachable almost 24 hour daily. As tours are conceived as self-guided trips, your luggage is transported via pre-arranged transportation with your hotel. You leave your baggage at the hotel reception by 9 AM and it will be delivered to the next hotel by 5 PM (17:00) the same day. What else should we bring? Your travel documentation includes a suggested packing list. The final decision is yours, though. As this is a walking holiday, it is easier to travel with as few bags as possible. Ask our staff for help coordinating your whole trip. Which meals are included? Is it advisable to book half-board (breakfast and dinner)? Usually our trips are based on bed & breakfast accommodation. This includes breakfast only. Dinner is available as a supplement, sometimes in a typical restaurant close to your accommodation. You may expect Central European cuisine, with local specialities. In case of special needs (diets) please let us know in advance. Beverages are not included with meals. The road-books include addresses of alternative places where you can eat if you don't book half-board in the place where you sleep. How will I get to the starting point of the tour? Slovenia is easily reachable by planes, trains or international buses. Participants from outside Europe may need to "connect" in one of the major Central European cities. We are happy to give you information on connecting flights or direct railway connections to Slovenia. For more info, please go here. |
