Walking Julian Alps
A walking holiday for those who like alpine scenery and natural monuments of a different kind. Famous Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj are visited, as well as the Mt. Tiglav National Park. A very picturesque mountain tour, emphasis on the countryside and natural points of interest. Suitable for hikers of very average fitness.
 
DAY 1.  ARRIVAL TO KRANJSKA GORA.
Meeting with the representative of Helia travel agency.
& Main attractions: alpine village of Kranjska Gora with beautiful scenery of Western Julian Alps. Known from winter sports - World Cup slaloms are held here every January. Hotel 3*.
 
DAY 2. KRANJSKA GORA – GOZD MARTULJEK - MOJSTRANA 18 km. One ascend / descend of 160m and one ascend / descend of 200m
Q Walking along former railway line Jesenice – Kranjska Gora, lightly descending. A short climb to Srednji vrh viewpoint across from Spik range. Valley of Sava Dolinka, the source of it being right on the Italian border. Country Inn 2*.
 
DAY 3. MOJSTRANA - KRMA – LAKE BLED 21 km flat
Q walking through Triglav National Park area, in cooling shadows of Radovna stream valley. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: many natural sights, touching WW2 historical monuments.
C We liked: Vintgar Gorge – a mile long canyon with a waterfall on the end.
 
DAY 4. BLED round walk of 8 km one ascend / descend of 80m
Q Free day in Bled or a short round walk to the Vintgar gorge of river Radovna - a mile long canyon with a waterfall on the end. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: time to explore Bled – its Lake, island church, the castle on the rock...
C We liked: cream cake in Park hotel – famous in all central Europe...
 
DAY 5. BLED - BOHINJ – RIBCEV LAZ 21 km, descend 700m
C Car transfer to top of Pokljuka high plateau, from there 12 km downhill to Lake Bohinj. This high plateau is a good starting point for more demanding tours. Walking across mountain pastures, farmers lodges to viewing point from where great views of Bohinj valley can be seen. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: in Studor village a farmers village can be visited, set in an old, intact farmhouse. See how people of the region lived 150 years ago. Untouched villages of Upper Bohinj valley.
C We liked: fresh alpine air, alpine pastures
 
DAY 6. BOHINJ Round walk of 15 km, flat
Q A day for rest or an easy walking route around Lake Bohinj (in the summer months one can swim in its' crystal clear waters). Hotel 4*.
& Main attractions: Savica waterfall, 70 meters high source of Sava Bohinjka river.
C We liked: local pubs with excellent lake trout, cable car ride up Vogel mountain - 1532 metres high.
 
DAY 7. BOHINJ - MLINO / LAKE BLED 10 km, one ascend / descend of 140m
Q Short car transfer, then along Sava river, flat. Hotel 4*.
& Main attractions: walking back to Lake Bled through the  valley of longest Slovene river. Great views of Karawanke range of mountains on the way to Bled. Time to take a boat ride to the island and visit the church of Virgin Mary, ring the Bell of Wishes. End the tour with the famous Park hotel cream cake.
 
DAY 8 MLINO - LAKE BLED
After breakfast the end of the trip.

Price includes:
Accommodations in double rooms, with WC and shower, on basis of bed & breakfast.
Transfer of persons on days 5 & 7. Also on day 3, if so necessary regarding booking of accommodation.
Luggage transfer (one piece per room).
Information packet including detailed route description with corresponding maps (one per room).
A welcome drink and meeting with Helia representative on the arrival day.
 A farmhouse snack on day five.
 
Supplements:
Half board 90 EUR.
Single supplement 120 EUR.
Supplement for 4* hotel accommodation in Bled (first and last night of stay in Bled) 44 EUR for BB, 64 EUR for half board.
One way transfer from Ljubljana airport: 40 EUR per person, minimum two persons.  One way transfer from Jesenice railway station: 20 EUR per person (minimum 2 persons). Extra nights available in Bled!

Children up to 12 years when sharing room with parents -30%.
Third adult person in the room -10%; both on basic price.
