Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN BLED

Bled is a popular town on the shore of a beautiful glacial lake with a combination of natural wonders and unique culture and history. Embark on a leisurely stroll around the lake and pay a visit to its one-of-a-kind island church. Additionally, don't miss the chance to explore the medieval castle majestically perched atop a towering precipice, offering a glimpse into the rich history of this enchanting town. (Accommodation in 4* hotel, example: Hotel Savica)

DAY 2: POKLJUKA – PLANIKA / KREDARICA HUT (6 hrs, ↔ 12 km, ↑ 1,170 m, ↓ 390 m)

Today it's into the heart of the Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps. The trail slowly ascends to Vodnikov Dom hut, amid the glorious views of Mt. Triglav (Slovenia's highest mountain - 2864 m), and its neighboring peaks. You will spend the night at Planika or Kredarica hut, right underneath Triglav. Hut, dormitories. (Accommodation in mountain hut, example: Planika hut)

Day 3: PLANIKA HUT – TOP OF MT. TRIGLAV - VODNIKOV DOM (4 hrs, ↔ 6.3 km, ↑ 610 m, ↓ 1,150 m)

Time to climb to the top of Mt. Triglav, towering high above Planika Hut. This is best done very early in the morning so you can enjoy the first rays of light as the sunrise bathes the beautiful landscape of Slovenia in warm, soft morning light. After the traditional baptism, receiving the honor for climbing the "Three Headed Mountain " and thus becoming a true Slovene, you will start your descent. A brief interlude for lunch awaits at Kredarica Hut before you make your way to your day's destination - Vodnikov Dom, offering a view over the enchanting Bohinj Valley. Hut, dormitories. (Accommodation in mountain hut, example: Vodnik hut)

Day 4: VODNIKOV DOM – KORITA MOSTNICE GORGE – RIBČEV LAZ (4 hrs, ↔ 14 km, ↑ 430 m, ↓ 1,720 m)

Descending in a southerly direction you will reach the unspoiled and untouched Voje Valley. Its beautiful natural gem is Mostnice Gorge, where the Mostnica River has cut a deep and narrow riverbed into limestone hillsides forming a gorge 15 meters deep in some places. Stop for a moment at the Devils' Bridge and read about the legend connected to it. End your day enjoying a great view of Bohinj Lake at sunset. (Accommodation in 4* hotel, example: Hotel Jezero)

Day 5: DEPARTURE

After breakfast or extension of your stay.

You may wish to continue hiking onward over our Goldhorn Trail!
