How to reach Slovenia
By Air: Slovenia is well-connected by major airlines, including Flydubai, Turkish Airlines, Air Serbia, Swiss Airlines, Transavia, Air Montenegro, Air France, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, EasyJet, Israer, LOT Polish Airline, Lufthansa, and Wizz Air, which fly to Ljubljana Airport (LJU), located 25 km from the city center. Regular shuttle bus services are available to the city, but there are no train connections from the airport. If you require airport transfer services, please contact us for options.
By Train: Ljubljana boasts a centrally located railway station, where trains from Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Croatia make stops. Our standard Ljubljana hotel is just 900 m from Ljubljana-Litostroj station.
Lake Bled offers two railway stations: Lesce-Bled on the Villach-Ljubljana line (4 km from the town center with good bus connections) and Bled Jezero on the Jesenice-Trieste mainline, which is useful for those flying to Trieste and taking a taxi to Monfalcone, followed by a train via Gorizia/Nova Gorica to Bled. Koper station, situated 1 km from the center and port, provides a direct connection to Ljubljana, while other train origins may require transfers at Divača railway station. Alternatively, Trieste is an option with good connections to and from Venice.
By Bus: Eurolines and Touring (mostly from Germany) buses stop in Ljubljana. A new bus connection from Prague through Vienna to Ljubljana is available. From Ljubljana, you can easily reach all local destinations in Slovenia. Flixbus also stops in Ljubljana, Maribor, Bled, and Koper.
By Car: Slovenia is easily accessible by car with an excellent network of motorways. Some travel distances include Vienna to Ljubljana (400 km), Munich to Ljubljana (460 km), Venice to Ljubljana (260 km), and Amsterdam to Ljubljana (1,240 km). From Ljubljana, the distances to Bled, Maribor, and Koper are 56 km, 115 km, and 96 km, respectively, all reachable via motorways. Adequate car parking facilities are available at all trip starting points.
